The HD CSAC Low Power 10MHz GPSDO has evolved out of the HD CSAC GPSDO but has a radically different system design to reduce the power consumption by more than 60%. It operates from a single +5V supply and consumes as little as 0.42W typically when in external 1PPS locking mode or holdover mode with the GPS disabled. GPS-enabled operation is possible with less than 0.55W power consumption. Besides the 5V operating voltage, the HD CSAC Low Power GPSDO provides the same features as the popular HD CSAC GPSDO unit, but adds various features such as a 3.3V CMOS 1PPS output, a socketed CSAC for easy upgrading of the CSAC oscillator, a second TTL level serial port that can be operated completely independently of the RS-232 level serial port, and a low-power holdover mode that shuts-off the power supply to the GPS receiver when GPS reception is not required.
