  • Robust package
  • Ideal for harsh environments

The Calian TW165 is a professional-grade, full GNSS band signal splitter that connects one antenna to four receivers. It supports GPS/QZSS-L1/L2/L5, QZSS-L6, GLONASS-G1/G2/G3, BeiDou-B1/B2/B2a/B3, Galileo-E1/E5a/E5b/E6, NavIC-L5, and L-band correction services.

Key Considerations

GNSS has become a critical component in safety, security, timing, and infrastructure applications, all of which require very high availability. Therefore, resilient fault-tolerant components are essential to avoid service interruptions.

Innovative Design

First-generation GNSS signal splitters had a single point of failure: only one attached receiver powered the splitter and the antenna. If this receiver failed or was unplugged, all attached receivers also failed.

The current-generation TW165 Smart Power GNSS signal splitter from Calian offers two key features:

  • Smart Power Selection: The TW165 accepts power from all attached GNSS receivers and selects power from a receiver using a specific protocol. Port #1 is prioritized if its voltage is within the specified range (3.3 V – 12.5 V). If port #1’s receiver is disconnected or its power goes below or above the specified range, the TW165 will switch to the next port in numerical order, provided its power and voltage are within the expected range. This switching and port selection is deterministic.
  • Antenna Fault Detection: If the antenna fails and does not draw current, the TW165 will provide the receiver powering the antenna with a current draw lower than 2 mA, indicating an antenna fault.

Superior Performance

The TW165 offers best-in-class performance in terms of noise figure, isolation, and linearity. It is housed in a corrosion-protected, military-grade aluminum (6061-T6) casing, which is robust, compact, and lightweight. The splitter has also passed the IP67 water ingress test.

Connectivity Options

The TW165 is available with either TNC or type-N connectors and offers 10 dB gain over signal-splitting loss.
